RoboCup

RoboCup is the official annual robotics world championship. I have been part of the Ohm RoboCup team since the beginning of my studies, first in the @Work league, now the Smart Manufacturing League (SML). I started as the team's media girl for basically everything people could find about us online, and later spent quite a long time as team lead.

Today RoboCup is also one of my clients. I support their media work across a wide range of tasks, from event visuals and motion assets to video production, social content and the many small things that make a robotics event feel clear, recognizable and alive. Below is a small collection of that work.

RoboCup Pinboard

The idea behind this pinboard is to give RoboCuppers a better way to collect and keep memories from the competition. Exchanging stickers is already a big part of the RoboCup culture, but stickers get scratched, bent and lost pretty quickly. Trading team shirts is lovely too, but it is expensive and not every team can afford to bring enough shirts to swap.

So the idea is: trade pins instead, and collect them on a pinboard built for exactly that. A first batch was handed out and gifted in Incheon, and there will be more pins at RoboCup 2027 in Nuremberg. You can rotate the board, inspect the details and even let the little gears spin.

Social media

My social media work for RoboCup covers the whole chain: photography, videography, post-production of the recorded footage, video editing (even if I do not always love that part), adding animations and creating graphics for posts, stories and event communication. Here is just a tiny selection.

Game assets for livestreams

I create a lot of video assets for RoboCup match encounters. Not only versus screens with two player or team logos, but also score graphics, goal animations, kick-in visuals and all the small broadcast pieces a professional soccer livestream needs to feel coherent and easy to follow.

Save the date

RoboCup 2027 will take place from July 15 to 21, 2027 at Messe Nuremberg. I am part of the organizing team and will lead the media team for the event.

I created the RoboCup trailer together with Tobias Schwarz Media. We filmed it together using the robot from Booster; Tobias handled the edit and cut, while the animations are all made by me. The trailer as a whole came from both of us, with a bit of support from a few people along the way. For the shoot, we were also at the FCN vs. Schalke match in the stadium in Nuremberg. The robot drove a lap there, and at the same time my video was shown on the stadium screen. We were also allowed to shoot at Cinecitta, where my video ran on the Cinemagnum screen.

Official logo and animation

I created the official RoboCup 2027 World Cup logo. It is inspired by the city logo of Nuremberg, and the color palette is meant to feel very much like Nuremberg too. From that visual identity, I also created the logo animation for screens, social media and event communication.

And much more.

A lot of RoboCup work is still waiting to be sorted, exported, cleaned up and written down properly. More visuals, more context and more behind-the-scenes bits are coming soon.
